Umbra of Io Choker
Chiaroscuro
A hinged diamond-set sphere emerges from a collar of polished onyx. The contrast between luminous pavé and dark mineral volume evokes the shifting surface of Io, where volcanic activity continuously reshapes the landscape.
The openwork interior is cast in gold using the ancient cire perdue technique, then hand-finished. Articulated gold spheres unfold at one end, allowing the choker to adjust to its wearer.
