Halcyon Arc Earrings
L'Eau Trois
Named for the halcyon days, when the sea was said to fall still enough for a bird to nest on open water, the earrings were made to hold that stillness in a line that doubles back on itself.
Larimar, cut as a marquise above and a pear below, sits within a sinuous armature of platinum, while a run of turquoise cabochons follows the outer edge in sizes that diminish as the curve descends. The stone holds no single hardness across its own surface, the pale zones yielding where the darker blue resists, so one cut has to be worked differently from region to region, and the material itself forms in a single place on earth and nowhere else.

The Larimar is of Dominican origin, which is the only source of the stone, and was acquired at auction in Europe. As with all stones acquired at auction, earlier history may not be fully evidenced, and that is disclosed. The four stones were cut for the piece by a master lapidary working in Portugal. Purchase documentation is retained where available. Provenance is described in accordance with the atelier’s Ethical Practice framework.
