Enceladus Plume Earrings
Renaissance
Enceladus, the moon of Saturn, throws plumes of ice from its southern pole into the dark. Two tourmalines of translucent rose are cut to an organic petal geometry and set within teardrops of mirror-polished gold.
The petal frames are cut by hand from gold sheet, each pair worked to match exactly. The tourmalines are two large crystals, matched as a pair: the first pales toward its heart and deepens toward the edge, the second reversed, colour gathering toward the centre, each holding its own garden of inclusions.
Above the petals, a reverse-set pavé of white diamonds, punctuated by two in fancy green, was built up in stages of rustication to carry a single, continuous gradation across many hours of work.
